So, I'm a diabetic. I don't mean I-eat-really-bad-food-and-am-overweight diabetic. That's type two. I'm the my-pancreas-went-capute-so-I-have-to-inject-myself-multiple-times-a-day diabetic. Neither are fun--my ma's a type two--but it's not so bad.

Okay, so I'm slightly lying. I used to be terrified of needles, though not so much anymore. Well, I'm fine as long as they don't pierce my vein and I don't have to look at them. The needles I use are super thin, so it's okay, I guess.

One of the worst parts is getting low blood sugar in the middle of the night; I'm always hungry then, anyway, and being low on top of it makes me feel ravenous. But when I get up, I'm all shaky and dizzy so I nearly fall going down the stairs, and sometimes I don't have juice or something, so I have to chug some creamer... Yeah... Not fun shit.

And getting high blood sugar means I'm all spaced out and kinda bitchy. Also not fun. And I have a certain range to keep my sugar in, so blech. I guess it could be worse--I could have something terminal, instead of just chronic.

Anyway, I'm off to get my hair did--its black and cut into an A-line, but it's getting shorter, and streaked red! :D

~~Shay

.

comments

Okay, so we've all had that one relationship where you're completely and totally invested but your partner really isn't, then when you stop giving a shit, they're suddenly bending backwards to get into your good graces. I mean, damn, where was that when I needed it? My ex, Michael, was the sweetest, most naive boy in the world, I swear. He thought I could do no wrong--and really, I couldn't--but he expected me to be there for him whenever he came a-callin'. Fuckin' sucks for him when he dumped me and then asked me out the next day, and I told him a flat out no. As my friends often put it, I'm like a dog with a bone; I won't let it go.

And maybe that's not even it. We were going out for two and a half years, but when he broke up with me, I wasn't crawling on my knees, beggin' for him back. My world didn't come crashin' down, and I didn't eat a super-sized tub of Ben-And-Jerry's. I thought he hung the moon, but it really only took me a few days to get over him. I guess I'm just not cut out for relationships.

It's not like I treated him like shit, or didn't care. He was a prince in my sparkly-eyed gaze, and I guess I just wasn't the princess he wanted until I told him I'm not taking him back. I wonder why it didn't work out--I'm a grade-A goth chick, he's an ex-jock; I like tattoos and screamo, he's more partial to football and Taco Bell (not that I don't enjoy the occasional chalupa...) They say opposites attract, but when talk runs low on what we both enjoy, it kinda gets a bit awkward, doesn't it? Is it because we're too opposite? Can tanned, tall, bulky jock guys date short, skinny, pale goth chicks who wear too much eyeliner and chains?

I never figured I would date a guy like him. He's not the first linebacker-esque dude I've dated, though my previous relationships dealing with the type ended in disaster. And I've dated a range of 'types'; a geek guy, a few football players, a valedictorian girl, a pothead girl, a slightly-schitzo chick... Okay, so my dating expertise isn't exactly extensive, but you get the idea. And I'm not usually into stereotyping, but that's how it kinda is.

Anyway, since Michael and I broke it off, I haven't gotten any nookie. That can make a girl pretty cranky in itself, but when said object of my previous lust and affections hangs around because we're still friends, it's even worse. I mean, he was the best guy I've ever been with, and its damn frustrating not to touch him when he's just right there. *Sigh* I need some no-strings-attached sex friend. Preferably someone I can swap Vampires Everywhere! and My Chemical Romance CDs with, but beggars can't be choosers...

~~Shay

comments

So, I've decided to try a blog! :D For those of you who may so happen to give a flying fuck. And look! There they all go! Flying the fuck away.

I've tried writing blogs before... And they crashed and burned. But this is more for my AFF account then anything--my profile page looks sadly boring.

So, this week I got a check from my uber-rich g-ma. (That's not why I love her. I mean, I love her 'cause she's my grandma, sweet thing. But she gave me a check as a late gift.) Anyway, I bought this awesome dress with spikes on the shoulders, and some fish-net skull gloves and a black bikini with a metal skull on it, courtesy of Spencer's. (The store, not the dude.) Oh! And a B.V.B. tee, but that's for Warped Tour.

Speaking of, that's in two weeks. I'm fucking excited! I'm looking forward to Black Veil Brides, Sleeping With Sirens, and The Summerset the most. Hells yeah!

And did I mention I (finally) got my nose pierced today? Great day.

~~Shay

comments
